Scholarship Committee

Well I am doing very good so far and am surely enjoying college. I am at the beginning of my third month here and am learning a whole lot. I have been pretty well off as far as studying and everything. I have had a little trouble with my FORTRAN class because I don't have the compiler in my room but I am hooked up and do have an e mail address if you want to send me any messages or if you have an e mail address. It is wortiz@nmsu.edu if you have e mail. I am just doing great. You should see all of the different people here and I do many different activities. I have a really good adviser and the dean of the college of engineering is a really nice guy.

My classes are:

Univ150 - a class on how to become a college student. I do a lot of writing in this class.

Engr101 - this class allows me to familiarize myself with the engineering principles and contacts in the engineering field

Math180 - a Trigonometry class

Chem. 111 - Well a chemistry class that requires a lot of studying.

EE162 - this is my computer Engineering class / It is FORTRAN Programming and requires a lot of my attention!

Like I said I have been enjoying my classes and have been meeting a lot of people, taking advantage of college life. I am seeing things in a totally different perspective and my life is so much different then it was a year age. I play Intramural Football and work out in the gym because there is a big bunch of health fanatics here that just get you into keeping in shape. I am now a member of SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) and also am working on a literary magazine. The next thing I will be doing is hopefully writing a column for the newspaper. I am really keeping busy!

Well I am just writing you to tell you how well everything is going and to let you know that I am doing great!!!

See You Later,
